While fabrics woven on old shuttle looms echo with a nostalgic gatan-goton sound, modern high-density looms resonate with this sharp, rhythmic cadence.

Most of KOROMO’s yōkai are said to be born in Kyoto, sometime after two o’clock in the morning. This one, however, came into being deep in the mountains of Banshū.
With an unusually red warp thread already set, we were invited—“Why not weave something with this?”—and by fortunate chance, this red yōkai fabric was born.

Woven into the fabric are a full gathering of yōkai: the child of Ittan-momen, Nurikabe, Kasa-obake, the female Shinigami, Zashiki-warashi, Uwan, Umibōzu, Hitotsume-kozō, the nine-tailed fox, Mitsume, Yabure-chōchin, and Nurarihyon.

Never before have so many yōkai appeared together, expressed entirely through weaving.
This exceptionally rare aloha shirt is now available in two refined colorways: deep black and madder red.
