Traditional Japanese kimono are governed by several unspoken rules. For example, furisode—kimono with long sleeves that extend to the hem—are no longer worn after marriage.
Likewise, garments featuring motifs that strongly evoke a specific season should not be worn once that season has passed.

Among these conventions, there are patterns known as spring–autumn motifs, which can be worn throughout the year regardless of season.
One such motif is the peony.

With its lavish appearance, the peony is often referred to as the “King of Flowers.” No matter how it is designed, it never loses its sense of dignity and presence.
By layering these peonies densely across the surface, the result is a richly expressive pattern—floral and striking, even though it is achieved solely through print.
