Previously released as part of a hand-painted T-shirt series, this design has now been reimagined on a shirt — and not on the back, but boldly across the front.

We envisioned the impact of a shirt featuring a large-scale motif flowing seamlessly across the entire front panel, even with buttons running through the center. Each element was carefully painted so the artwork would connect beautifully as one continuous composition.

Hand-painted coloration
Making full use of the watercolor technique known as bokashi (gradation blending), each piece is hand-painted and dyed onto fabric as though it were a canvas.

To layer different colors and transform them into entirely new shades, the artisan must carefully anticipate the order of each application, the timing, and the precise movement of the brush. It is a process that demands extensive experience, knowledge, and intuition.

At times, even embracing a degree of spontaneity, completing the countless gradients across such a wide surface requires an extraordinary amount of time and craftsmanship.
