These days, the lingering summer heat can be so intense that we find ourselves wondering just how long summer will last. Even as the calendar turns to autumn, the hot days seem to continue.

With that in mind, we created a short-sleeve shirt featuring autumn motifs—a piece designed to be enjoyed right at the turning point between summer and fall.

The design brings together red spider lilies, which are just coming into season, and dragonflies, another familiar symbol of autumn. It is a short-sleeve shirt made for “wearing autumn” even while the warmth of summer still lingers.

Of course, it can be worn over a T-shirt, but it also works beautifully layered with a long-sleeve T-shirt as the weather gradually becomes cooler.

For the dragonfly wings, we have also brought back a technique we have not used in some time. Washi, traditional Japanese paper, is applied to the translucent sections of the wings, expressing the delicate network of veins that becomes visible as light passes through them.

Like the changing of the seasons itself, this shirt belongs to that brief moment between the lingering heat of summer and the arrival of true autumn.

Wear it on your outings and enjoy the gradual transition from late summer into the heart of autumn.
