Patchwork is the art of freely creating patterns by joining together fabric scraps of various colors and shapes, without being bound by strict rules.
At Koromo’s workshop, countless fabric remnants are kept—items that would normally be thrown away, but are saved out of a sense of “mottainai,” or not wanting to waste what is still usable.
Our patchwork pieces appear from time to time, and they are always among the items that sell out quickly due to their popularity.

This time, we created a “pattern patchwork,” combining not only different fabrics but also different printed motifs.
At first, the plan was to make a patchwork using only discharge-printed patterns.
However, once we began arranging the fabrics, we couldn’t resist adding more—resulting in a piece packed with both discharge prints and a variety of textiles.
Each pattern and fabric sewn into this garment represents the extra care and attention that went into its creation.
