The koikuchi shirt originally served as an undergarment worn by those carrying mikoshi during Japanese festivals.

Paired with a haragake apron and layered beneath a happi coat, it is part of the attire that transforms the wearer into a spirited, stylish festival participant—iki and inase in character.
Using this traditional silhouette as our reference, we created a long-sleeve T-shirt with a slightly relaxed fit for comfortable wear.
The sleeves are repeatedly switched with different fabrics, adding visual interest and allowing the piece to stand on its own as a statement, while also working beautifully for layered styling.
Above all, this long-sleeve T-shirt was made to echo the spirit and pride of the festival-goer.
