For those who grew up far from the city, the memory of great burnet swaying in the autumn breeze may linger somewhere in their minds, even without ever having consciously recognized it as a flower.
Perhaps you remember seeing it growing along riverbanks and rice field paths, swaying alongside autumn pampas grass.
Unlike flowers that bloom in full, brilliant glory, great burnet is a humble wildflower that has quietly marked the passing seasons, its deep burgundy flower heads gently swaying in the breeze, never seeking to be admired.
We have brought this understated beauty to the hem of a dress made from iridescent woven fabric in muted, weathered tones.
Its appearance subtly changes with the angle of the light, revealing a different expression with every movement.
The design combines discharge printing, conventional printing, and teburi hand embroidery. To recreate the tiny, rounded florets of the great burnet, the needle is guided repeatedly in small circular movements, building up layers of thread to create a beautiful, three-dimensional texture.
Made from lightweight fabric, this dress falls into a graceful, flowing flare, allowing the beauty of its silhouette to shine with every step.
