Recently, it is said that the word kanpai (cheers) is sometimes avoided because its pronunciation can be associated with kanpai meaning “complete defeat.” Instead, people are increasingly raising their glasses and saying iyasaka, a phrase that means continued prosperity.
There is also the celebratory expression banzai, which carries a similarly auspicious meaning of wishing for ongoing success and joy. This T-shirt is named the “Banzai T-shirt,” a name that conveys a sense of celebration and good fortune.
Normally, sleeves are attached to garments facing downward, as human arms naturally hang from the shoulders. However, inspired by a unique turnaround idea—like the roller coaster at Universal Studios Japan that gained popularity by running backward—we designed this T-shirt with the sleeves attached upward.
This unconventional construction creates a relaxed armhole without tightness and allows air to flow comfortably under the arms, resulting in an exceptionally pleasant wearing experience.
The design of this T-shirt, which reimagines conventional ideas, features the “Night-blooming cereus.”
