This yarn was developed through trial and error by a thread artisan in Okayama who, after observing indigo dyeing, sought to recreate the “core-white” (nakajiro) dyeing technique seen in denim.

The fabric knitted from this yarn is characterized by its uneven texture and the horizontal streaks that emerge from the yarn’s unique properties, giving it a vintage-like appearance.

As this is still an entirely new material, we cannot yet say how it will evolve with repeated washing.
However, as you enjoy the gradual fading and changing texture over time, we hope you will appreciate it alongside the image of butterflies dancing gracefully—said to bring good fortune when they flutter into your home.
